- Electrical experience and troubleshooting, working with 120V, 277V, 480V and low voltage.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, components, and repair procedures.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including package units, air handling units, split systems, make-up air units, chillers, and DDC controls.
- Knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting on boilers.
- Experience working on pumps and motors.
- Good working knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of plumbing, replacing valves, pipes, water heaters, etc.
- Experience and competence working with computers.
- Availability for on-call work.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of individuals.
- Ability to work around children.
- Ability to work well with the public.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or heights if required.
- Ability to run small equipment i.e. backhoes, snowplows, man lifts, etc.
- Ability to operate various power and hand tools.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in performing duties.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including masks, as needed.

Job Summary
The Tooele County School District is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the care and maintenance of all buildings and help maintain a safe and sanitary facility for students, employees, and the public. They will ensure that all assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner. This role supports Tooele County School District’s Strategic Model which promotes creating safe learning environments and resource efficiency. The ideal candidate prioritizes student well-being, effective collaboration, and sustainable landscaping practices. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
