- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of school grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding.
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as pruning flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Help to maintain athletic fields and playgrounds, including detailed mowing and trimming, replenishing softfall, and basic field repairs as directed.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repair as needed.
- Support in keeping outdoor areas clean and free of debris.
- Assist with campus beautification efforts such as painting, window and sidewalk cleaning.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize assignments.
- Operate and maintain grounds equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the grounds supervisor or maintenance supervisor. This may include painting and cleaning inside of the school buildings as well as assisting with various maintenance projects throughout the school district.
- High school diploma or equivalent and be 18 years or older to apply.
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related fields is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors during hot summer months in various weather conditions.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and kneeling, the ability to be on your feet for most of the day.
- Knowledge of common power tools and lawn equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Willingness to undergo background checks as required by the school district.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in performing duties.
- Wear appropriate safety gear, including masks, as needed.

Non-Essential Functions Other duties as assigned. Work Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and a significant amount of fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing. Requires working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, wind, heavy rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
Duration and Schedule:
This is a temporary, seasonal position for the summer months. The typical work schedule will be 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
