Job Overview:
As a part-time staff member, Performs duties of a tour guide at the Benson Grist Mill and general maintenance of the Benson Mill grounds.
Responsibilities:
Event Setup and Breakdown:
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including booths, stages, decorations, and equipment.
- Ensure that all elements are arranged according to the event plan and that the venue is left in its original condition after breakdown.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting attendees with inquiries, directing them to designated areas, and addressing their needs during the event.
- Maintain a positive and approachable attitude to enhance the overall attendee experience.
Cash Handling:
- Following County policies and procedures in handling cash.
Registration and Check-In:
- Assist with attendee registration and check-in processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Distribute event materials, badges, or any other relevant items to attendees.
Venue Assistance:
- Monitor and manage designated areas within the event venue to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Work with the venue staff to address any issues that may arise during the event.
- Logistics Support:
- Assist in managing event logistics, such as coordinating transportation, handling equipment, and overseeing the delivery and setup of supplies.
Clean-Up:
- Participate in post-event clean-up activities, including the removal of decorations, equipment, and waste disposal.
- Help maintain and clean event facilities as directed by supervisor and management.
- Help maintain and keep Mill clean and weed free.
Promotion and Engagement:
- Encourage attendee participation in event activities and promotions.
- Distribute promotional materials and information about upcoming events.
Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Basic knowledge of event operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to lift and carry event-related equipment, between 25-50 lbs.
- Walking, standing, squatting, or moving for long periods of time.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
