JOB title:
Process Technician / Molder Night Shift: 10pm to 6:30am
JOB Purpose:
Get injection molding machines up and running with minimal downtime between jobs while producing molded product to the correct configuration and customer requirements.
MAJOR Responsibilities:
Start job using established process with minimal start-up rejects.
Adjust processing parameters within defined limits to maintain consistency of quality product.
Purge machine and change between different material types.
Retrieve molds from storage and prepare for production.
Install molds into injection molding machines and connect all required ancillary equipment.
Verify molds and ancillary equipment are set up in a safe condition and functioning properly.
Removal of molds and ancillary equipment from injection molding machines after production runs.
Clean molds and equipment and store in a safe protected condition.
Identify reject conditions and how to correct them.
Operate machines, equipment, and personal safely.
SPECIFIC duties:
Conduct minor mold maintance.
Operate forklift
Use a variety of hand tools in an appropriate and safe manner.
Generate work orders for mold or equipment repair.
Operate pallet jack.
Record time spent on tasks.
Keep work areas clean and organized.
Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Operate safely while caring for equipment and tools.
Conduct resin handling, drying, and movement.
Operate forklift.
Material dryer operation and cleaning.
Mold heater operation.
Stage molds and all associated equipment to set mold.
Verification and documentation of all mold and equipment setup processes.
Verification and documentation of all equipment parameters.
Train Mold Setup-1
authority:
Operate injection molding machine in setup mode.
Stop molding machine if scrap rate is above standard, unsafe, or process is out of control.
Red tag broken or unsafe tools and equipment
Supervise Mold Setup-1.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication:
Able to read and write English.
Able to keep accurate quantity records.
Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Know material properties and how to apply them.
Operation of function of individual mold components and as a system.
Mechanical skills
Basic computer skills.
Team oriented.
Efficient and action driven.
Motivated self-starter.
Dependable with reliable attendance.
Able to stand for 10 to 12 hours.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Able to see with 20/20 vision to assess cosmetic requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a contract manufacturing organization preferred.
