JOB TITLE: DELIVERY DRIVER
REPORTS TO: SHOP FOREMAN
JOB CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
JOB STATUS: FULL-TIME

JOB PURPOSE:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely driving the company box truck to make daily deliveries and pickups to and from customers and supplier throughout the Puget Sound Region.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Load and unload the truck, which may involve using equipment like forklifts.
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as manifests and bills of lading.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Record mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information.
- Coordinate with necessary departments and staff ensure smooth on-time deliveries.
- Always provide excellent customer service to all customers and suppliers.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and securing cargo when necessary.
- When daily driving responsibilities are finished, you will be responsible for assisting with warehouse and shop operations as needed.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered and keep the truck clean, in good working condition, and inspect it before and after each trip.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to supervisor or appropriate staff.
- Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, or tire chains.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties as assigned, such as assembly, shipping and receiving, and machine operation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Valid Washington Driver’s License with good driving record.
- Can follow a production schedule for deliveries and pickups.
- Read maps, use GPS navigation, and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
- Able to use forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, and operate mechanical equipment.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment; time constraints likely.
- Reading comprehension; written instructions, policies, and job specifications.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a delivery driver in a commercial box truck (10’ or larger) required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- If offered the position, you will be required to provide a copy of your current Abstract Driver Records (ADR); it must be within the last 30 days and be eligible to be covered under the company insurance policy.
