Pay: $30/hr
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bilingual (Spanish) Algebra I and Biology Tutor to join our team in Queens. In this role, you will provide in-person tutoring to high school students during the school day, helping them master Algebra I and Living Environment concepts and prepare for assessments. Compensation and Schedule:
- Target launch date February 25, 2025
- Schedule of 4 six-hour days each week
- Pay of $30 per hour, including paid sick leave
- Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to help students prepare for the Algebra I and Living Environment Regents exams in June
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, particularly English Language Learners
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to keep students engaged
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate a supportive learning environment
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Mathematics, Biology, or a related field
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, including strong proficiency in mathematical terminology and the ability to teach math effectively in Spanish
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching Algebra I or high school Biology
- Familiarity with the New York State Regents exams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
