Job Overview:
Top Care Support is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Behavior Specialist to join our team to work with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD). The ideal candidate will have experience in behavior analysis, therapy, and creating individualized plans to support positive behavioral change. The Behavior Specialist will work closely with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to improve the quality of life for individuals by utilizing evidence-based interventions and promoting meaningful community participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of behaviors and develop individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Behavioral Intervention: Implement, monitor, and adjust behavior intervention strategies and techniques based on individual’s needs and progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Agency BCBA, Family Members, Top Care Support Administration, Direct Support Professionals, and other professionals to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to behavior management.
- Data Collection: Gather, track, and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
- Training & Support: Provide training and ongoing support to staff, and families on behavior management techniques, ensuring consistency across all environments.
- Crisis Management: Use positive behavioral supports to prevent or safely manage crisis situations when they arise.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, thorough records of assessments, behavior intervention plans, progress reports, and any other documentation required by state or agency guidelines.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements regarding behavior management for individuals with ID/DD, specifically the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
- Community Engagement: Support individuals in developing social, communication, and life skills to enhance independence and community integration.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with ID/DD, specifically in behavior analysis or behavioral health.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of evidence-based practices, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and other therapeutic approaches for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
