Top Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Hands-On Network Engineer with experience in the automotive industry to join our team. This role requires a proactive professional who can design, implement, manage and maintain complex network infrastructures in a fast-paced manufacturing or enterprise automotive environment. Ensuring seamless connectivity, and optimizing network performance. The role requires expertise in server management, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response while adhering to industry best practices. Deep understanding of industry-specific requirements including plant floor networking and automotive OEM/Tier 1 supplier environments.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive management and maintenance of Windows servers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers, IT teams, and plant operations to optimize network performance for industrial automation and IoT-connected devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network latency, connectivity issues, and security vulnerabilities within automotive plants and offices.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and VLANs to ensure secure and segmented network access.
- Provide real-time support for critical network infrastructure in production environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement automotive cybersecurity best practices and work with compliance teams to adhere to industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cloud and IT teams to support hybrid infrastructure and emerging automotive technologies.
- Maintain network documentation, policies, and procedures for compliance and operational efficiency.
- Establish proactive monitoring and optimization of server resources, including CPU, memory, and storage to prevent resource bottlenecks and support scalability.
- Selection, Implementation and utilization of a software to monitor server health, automate routine tasks, and ensure efficient operations.
- Establish continuous monitoring of critical services through a dedicated Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Create a structured, fully tested patching process designed to ensure stability and reliability.
- Establish policies to validate patches before deployment.
- Create a deployment strategy to ensure smooth implementation and reduce risk.
- Scheduled monthly patch rollout.
- Establish and implement a plan to rapid response to server incidents.
- Monthly reports summarizing server health, resource utilization, patch compliance, and monitoring activities.
- Regular updates and notifications regarding server performance, upcoming maintenance, and critical incidents.
- Establish business reviews to alignment with client priorities and business goals.
- Select and Implement tools that will provide for disaster recovery, delivering a powerful end-to-end solution for Data Protection.
- Ensure our clients data remains secure, scalable and resilient while providing robust recovery options.
- Ensure backups remain tamper-proof for specified retention periods, providing a reliable recovery point.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years experience as a network/infrastructure engineer
- 5 years experience with Windows Servers
- Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Detailed understanding of cloud and network security
- Fluency in one or more programming or scripting languages
- Experience deploying and customizing security tools to address threats and lower risk: CSPM, vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, web application firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security monitoring, etc.
- Knowledge of networking and web protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, REST), and the ability to analyze traffic to find anomalies
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines to perform automated security testing and change management
- Understanding of modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns: virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, infrastructure as code, etc
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other teams to achieve complex objectives
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Preferred Certifications:
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certifications.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator.
- ITIL, CompTIA Security , or other relevant IT certifications.
- Hybrid onsite at St Paris, Ohio
