Reports To: Pit Manager- Top Grade Aggregates, LLC
Job Description:
The Scalehouse Operator serves as the first point of contact for Drivers and Customers working with our material processing crew at our Grandville Location. Your key responsibilities will include managing day to day scale house activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greets customers and other traffic.
- Help answer questions to customer walk-ins and direct traffic where to go.
- Ensures that the incoming and outgoing loads of earth material are weighed accurately using weighing program.
- Performs cash handling, balancing, and receipting duties making sure payments are calculated correctly.
- Ensures that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keeps immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
- Provides general upkeep of the Scale House which includes sweeping floors, cleaning the bathroom, and keeping things organized.
- Answer phones and play as a backup for incoming calls from our main switchboard.
- Completes all administrative tasks including printing tickets and keeping incoming and outgoing paperwork organized.
- Approaches all encounters with employees, customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Attends company sponsored training and meetings as directed.
Qualifications:
To be successful, the Material Processing Scalehouse Operator will need certain skills and qualifications to manage the often-demanding role including, but not limited to, the following:
- Demonstrates excellent time management abilities.
- Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of Math.
- The ability to read and interpret documents.
- Understanding weight restrictions.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
Work Environment:
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Walking, bending, twisting, repetitive motion.
- Use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.).
- Exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements as part of the workday.
