Top Gun Staffing Group LLC is proud to announce their partnership with a primary healthcare organization in Manchester, NH. We are currently seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant on a temporary basis to assist their Optometrists with providing eye care services to their patients.

Responsibilities :

  • Works as an integral member of the Optometry health care team using excellent patient centered communication skills.
  • Prepare patient to see Optometrist by performing necessary pre-testing such as auto refraction and other pre-testing and duties as delegated by Optometrist.
  • Manage continuous patient flow by effectively communicating with team members and providers.
  • Assist provider(s) with procedures. Act as a patient chaperone when necessary.
  • Disinfects and wipes down all equipment and instruments according to manufacturer's instructions before and after every patient and at the end of the day including all counters and exam rooms.
  • Schedule additional tests and schedule / track referral appointments with direction of the Optometrist. Documents pertinent data in the electronic health record and utilize appropriate tracking system.
  • Assist in contacting patients for follow-up on missed appointments, recall testing, and outside referral appointments.
  • Proactive schedule management, facilitate patient access to same day care as directed and maintain desktop efficiently in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with frame selection, order glasses, lenses and associated equipment, track orders and schedule eye glass pick-ups in a timely manner. Dispense eyewear to patients on pick up.
  • Routinely stock rooms, assist with ordering necessary supplies and prepare contaminated instruments for re-sterilization following OSHA exposure control guidelines.
  • Collaborate with departments and staff using excellent customer service.
  • Attend mandatory safety-related and infection control in-services as designated by the Senior Management Team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity of population served. Maintain client age-related competence. Assist with accessing / scheduling translators as appropriate.

Education / Training :

  • High School Diploma and completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Ophthalmic Assistant Certificate, or equivalent training.
  • Experience in optometry / ophthalmology preferred. Prefer experience in an ambulatory health care environment.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Bilingual skills helpful.
  • Hours :

  • Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
  • Pay Range :

  • 19.00 - $25.00 / hour commensurate with experience
  • Salary : $19 - $25
