Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our growing team in the wastewater and water resources division. This position is perfect for a recent graduate or a professional with less than 2 years of experience who holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil engineering. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, analysis, and planning of wastewater systems, including treatment plants, collection systems, and stormwater management infrastructure.
- Work on the preparation of engineering reports, technical specifications, and calculations for water and wastewater projects.
- Support senior engineers in developing plans and specifications for infrastructure projects related to water resources, such as water treatment facilities, pipelines, and stormwater systems.
- Conduct field inspections and site assessments to ensure compliance with project plans, codes, and regulations.
- Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling for water distribution systems, wastewater systems, and stormwater management.
- Support the preparation of permit applications and regulatory compliance documents.
- Assist with cost estimation, material selection, and project scheduling.
- Review and interpret technical reports, maps, and design documents.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest engineering practices, industry trends, and water resources management regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or a Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil engineering (or the ability to obtain within 1-2 years).
- Strong foundation in water resources, wastewater management, and stormwater design principles.
- Knowledge of civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or other hydrology/hydraulic modeling tools.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AWWA, ASTM, EPA, local building codes).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
