Electrical Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role involves power distribution, safety compliance, and project management to support facility infrastructure and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project scopes, specifications, and bid documents for electrical projects.
- Review and inspect vendor designs, drawings, and electrical plans to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Perform fieldwork to gather data, verify tie-ins, and provide electrical construction support.
- Oversee onsite contractor activities, ensuring adherence to company requirements and electrical safety protocols.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and costs, tracking progress and identifying potential risks.
- Design and maintain industrial power distribution systems (13,800V, 12,470V, 4,160V, 480V), lighting, UPS, and emergency power systems.
- Determine power loads and energy requirements for new equipment installations.
- Prepare bid packages, combining specifications, standards, and drawings to solicit bids.
- Ensure OSHA, NEC NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NESC/ANSI C2 compliance for all electrical infrastructure projects.
- Oversee power system protection, control, and monitoring to optimize performance and reliability.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions to plant operations during project execution.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience in electrical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, industrial lighting, and electrical safety standards.
- Familiarity with PLCs, electrical drives, and control systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project scheduling software, and electrical design tools.
- Ability to develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
- 4-year Engineering degree 5 years of experience OR 10 years of industrial project management experience in the absence of a degree.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Travel required for project-related assignments.
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- CPR certification required.
