What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Top Gun Staffing Inc?
We are seeking multi-craft maintenance professionals for 2nd and 3rd shifts to perform machine setups, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to standardized work instructions while ensuring safety compliance.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on robots, including replacing weld shunts, tips, weld guns, and rebuilding cylinders.
- Replace transformers, firing panels, and other critical machine components.
- Conduct tasks requiring the use of manlifts, ladders, and outdoor work as needed.
- Follow all OSHA and plant safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Provide support for operational improvement initiatives and assist in developing initial standardized work practices.
- Respond to emergency equipment repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance during downtime.
- Prepare and set up machinery for production runs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out required maintenance and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, plus advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC systems.
- A USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience/technical training is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive experience preferred).
- Experience working with Fanuc robotic welders is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in identifying and resolving machine malfunctions and quality issues with welded assembly parts.
- Basic knowledge of DC/AC voltage, including replacing proximity cords and switches.
- Familiarity with basic welding techniques (arc, MIG, TIG, and spot welding).
- Understanding of plumbing systems for cooling water used in welding applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with robotics in a welding environment.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with pneumatics or hydraulics.
- Basic electrical experience with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
- 2 years of practical mechanical experience, including motors, conveyors, drives, and power transmission systems.
- Hands-on welding experience with a foundational understanding of welding principles.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with HMIs for troubleshooting machinery.

Pay: $28.00 - $36.25 per hour
