Top Lock Locksmiths & Security is a national locksmith, door, and security company providing commercial services to retail, healthcare, rental car, and hospitality clients. Our team self-performs work in NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, and PA, while utilizing a network of vendors nationwide. We specialize in commercial locksmith services, door services (manual, automatic, overhead), glass services, safe services, access control, video surveillance systems and alarms.
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) with locksmith, security, commercial hardware and door industry experience to oversee and support our projects. This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate must have a strong technical background to effectively manage self-performed jobs and subcontracted work across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
Project Oversight & Execution
- Manage and oversee multiple larger projects or smaller jobs, ensuring smooth execution for both self-performed jobs and subcontracted work.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure projects meet scope, timeline, and budget expectations.
- Monitor job progress and resolve technical or logistical challenges that arise.
- Selecting the correct vendor partners for a specific job or project
Estimating & Quoting
- Develop accurate quotes by working with suppliers and vendors to create a Bill of Materials (BOM) based on project requirements related to locks, commercial door hardware, doors and security.
- Identify cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Assist the sales and operations teams with pricing strategies and project feasibility assessments.
Technical Support & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as a technical resource for our operations team, technicians and vendors, providing expertise on commercial hardware, doors, locksmith, and security.
- Assist vendors in troubleshooting issues and selecting appropriate hardware, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
- Ensure project specifications align with industry best practices and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Required Experience:
o Commercial locksmithing, commercial door hardware, or security industry experience is required.
o Hands-on knowledge of commercial door hardware, locks, access control systems, or related fields.
- Preferred Experience:
o Previous experience with Brivo and Eagle Eye
o Previous experience in a project management or technical estimating role.
o Familiarity with Salesforce Field Service or similar work order management platforms.
o Experience working with national accounts and coordinating with third-party vendors.
- Skills & Abilities:
o Strong ability to assess a job or project and provide the proper hardware for the specific application
o Strong ability to read blueprints, hardware schedules, and project specs.
o Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
o Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and estimating tools.
