We’re currently seeking a dependable and skilled Garage Door Service Technician to join our growing team. Our Garage Door Service technicians are commission based roles that rewards individuals who are motivated by having their paychecks reflect their own drive, effort, and motivation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Install, repair, and service residential garage doors and openers
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, and structural components
· Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections
· Interact professionally with customers, ensuring a positive service experience
· Keep accurate records of service work and parts used
· Maintain tools, company vehicle, and equipment in good working condition
· Safety Inspections: Turn in weekly safety inspection reports to the Director of Safety to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Skills
· Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of residential garage door installation procedures, including the ability to install, repair, and maintain all door components.
· Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address installation issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring smooth and timely completion while maintaining a positive attitude.
· Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach, with the ability to interact professionally with homeowners and address concerns as needed.
· Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring deadlines are completed on schedule and without compromising quality. Collaborative mindset with co-workers and team members.
· Attention to Detail and Organization: High level of attention to detail to ensure that jobs are done correctly and safely, and that all parts are accounted for before, during, and after the installation.
· Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, coordinating with other installers, warehouse staff, and management as needed.
· Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in garage door service is REQUIRED.
- Able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential garage door systems.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently
- A commitment to safety, quality, and excellent customer service
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs overhead and perform physical tasks
- Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to maintain a clean work environment.
- Safety Training will also be required. Expectation to comply with all safety guidelines related to driving and installation practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with LiftMaster, Genie, or other major opener systems preferred but not required.
