Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to assist in leading a classroom effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the implementation of engaging lesson plans, under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
- Provide instruction using various teaching methods and techniques
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all
- Collaborate with other teachers, directors, and staff members
- Utilize learning technology effectively
-Coordinating daily activities and supervising aides in the absence of the group supervisor
- Assisting in the implementation of daily program activities, under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
Education:
An assistant group supervisor shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:
(1) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
(2) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in § 3270.31(c) (relating to age and training).
(3) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.
(4) A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in § 3270.31(c).
(5) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children.
Required Skills:
- Childcare experience
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Minimum 2,500 hours of documented work with children
Clearances:
The following clearances are required to be up to date in the state of Pennsylvania for Lead Teachers:
- FBI Clearance
- PA State Police Clearance
- Child Abuse Clearance
-Health Assessment (upon hire)
- NSOR Clearance (can be completed upon hire, if not up to date)
