Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for administrative, analytical, and strategic tasks contributing to the department.
Key Activities
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze purchasing and sales data to help identify trends and inform business decisions.
- Prepare reports on product and item category market conditions as needed.
- Comprehensive review of spend and profit by product category or vendor.
- Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities to reduce costs through vendor consolidation, price negotiations, and process improvements.
- Practice cost-saving initiatives with order price review and approval.
- Strategic Vendor Management: Help negotiate, manage, and organize vendor contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
- Identify new sourcing opportunities. Assist in data entry and organization tasks in SAP on vendor information and pricing.
- Sales Support: Provide sales team members with product information, pricing, and competitive analysis.
- Assist in sample request management and execution.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop product sell sheets and market information for distribution to sales and/or customers.
- Intercompany coordination of new items and vendors as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Food industry experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- SAP experience preferred.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in purchasing or sales.
