Summary
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supervising, training, and motivating, by example all mechanics on the shift.
Key Activities
- Coordinates manpower usage to solve problems quickly.
- Responsible for assisting management in providing a safe and healthy work environment, free of all recognizable hazards.
- Must understand and comply with safety performance audit, such as providing safety training to employees, conducting weekly and monthly safety inspections, following up on work orders, tool checks, and documenting necessary requirements.
- Works in a team with the 3rd shift Maintenance Team and other Production and Food Safety personnel to ensure equipment is put together timely and properly and the plant meets sanitary standards for an on-time production start-up each morning. Engages in open, two-way communications with fellow employees to achieve these standards/metrics. Works with 2nd Shift Maintenance Team to insure a smooth transition at shift change.
- Works closely with Production Management, Food Safety Management and Sanitation Management to determine projects and priorities.
- Responsible for working closely with management on Engineering projects in completion of those projects.
- Must conduct weekly and monthly safety inspections, observe, and review work practices with employees, conduct job safety training, make sure housekeeping, food safety and plant rules are being followed.
- Responsible for safe production and the general safety and health of all employees. Responsible for daily hazard/loss control through accident prevention.
- Assures that all preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures are timely and properly performed and spare parts are inventoried. Monitors mechanics to ensure areas are clean and safe.
Preferred Skills
- Possesses basic electronic skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Educations & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent Skills.
- 3 -5 years of maintenance experience preferred.
- prefer seafood experience.
