We are currently looking for an Audiology Assistant for our growing practices. This is a supportive role to our Doctors of Audiology and Licensed Specialists and our patients. Our perfect candidate should be outgoing, friendly, have a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new things. PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS NOT NEEDED, WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. Description
You will work under the supervision of a licensed audiologist, performing selected tasks to enhance our patients' experience. You will be a key patient-facing team member with direct responsibility for the patient experience. This role is critical in the delivery of our hearing health care and audiology services.
- Patient care and engagement
- Maintain a consistent and timely flow of appointments.
- Daily biologic listening checks of equipment
- Clean and sterilize rooms and equipment between patients
- Prepare exam rooms for patient use by cleaning and sterilizing rooms between patients and ensuring that each room is stocked with the appropriate supplies.
- Prepare procedure trays as necessary
- Escort patients to treatment rooms. Assist audiologist patients to assess needs and ensure correct resolution and resources for each patient
- Ensure electronic medical record documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with practice policy and procedure
- Maintain patient flow and sees patients for routine service and repair appointments; assess patient’s hearing device needs, instruct on appropriate repair and/or cleaning options, and proceeds with repair action as approved by patient and audiologist where required in accordance with practice policies and procedures
- Assist audiologist in audiological testing and evaluation and ensuring proper fitting of hearing devices and technology
- Perform hearing aid orientation, including basic care and use of the hearing aid (insertion, removal, adjusting volume, etc.)
- Demonstrate care and maintenance of hearing devices to patients and support/caregivers
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining supplies and testing equipment
- Assist in managing new device orders and repairs and inventory, including check-in, check-out and loaner devices
- Program hearing devices to last session in NOAH software
- Coordinate scheduling of pick up repair appointment with audiologist
- Send out devices for repair per audiologist directions
- Clean supplies weekly (follow standard protocol for sterilization procedures)
- Stock treatment rooms and repair / service rooms with supplies & paperwork weekly
- Document all notes in electronic medical records system
- Maintain accurate charting, schedule appointments, triage phone calls, and perform other tasks related to efficient dispensing of hearing health care
- Develop leads and referrals from existing patient database
- Participate in grassroots marketing efforts including participation at live events, community events and company sponsored initiatives such as patient appreciation events, lunch and learns, in-office educational events, community centers and events, plus more
- Performs all duties respectful of confidentiality and safety of all patients, employees and providers
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population
· 1-2 years of office experience in a customer support role preferred
· Proficient computer skills including ability to master the clinic’s practice management software
· Ability to handle a busy office with interruptions, calls, and walk-ins.
· Must have the ability to direct the flow of the office efficiently and with a great attitude
Compensation: Hourly plus bonus opportunities ($35,000 - $45,000 per year)
