POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant assists the Accounting Supervisor and Director of Finance in performing and administering the responsibilities and activities of the Finance & Accounting Department, to include set duties as well as projects as necessary.

- Responsible for all rebate accounting including maintaining SMS module of ERP system as well as reconciliations of respective balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Update and maintain vendor rebate agreements.
- Maintain the vendor rebate schedules for all rebate accruals and payments to include chargebacks, shelf stock adjustments, operational, standard, volume incentive, promotional, etc.
- Reconcile rebate accruals to vendor payments, including corresponding with vendors, and propose A/P adjustments or general journal entries as necessary
- Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules on the FAS software; provide monthly detail to the Accounting Manager for General Journal entries; ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
- Prepare and pay monthly gross receipts and CAT tax returns for various states
- Prepare monthly reconciliation and account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Propose General Journal entries as necessary based on results of reconciliations
- Assist with maintaining policies and procedures and records in accordance with company guidelines
- Actively participate in the month-end close process, including assisting in preparing financial statement package
- Prepare and analyze the monthly departmental budget/forecast to actual variance report
- Assist with the annual financial audit and any other audits as applicable
- Assist with annual budget process
- Maintain monthly analysis of Accounts Receivable Aging and Collection Accounts
- Prepare the Projected and Ranking Report (daily)
- Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or Work Equivalent
Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience in general accounting preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience working with financial reporting software a plus.
Computer Skills: Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
