Job Description:
Peraton is seeking an experienced Systems/Network Engineer SME to join our team of experts providing operational and mission support to a classified customer in Virginia. This role requires strong IT background and technical subject matter expertise in network engineering.
The successful candidate will help design, build, and manage enterprise communication systems between fielded systems and end-users, supporting the Network Strategy and ongoing engineer activities across multiple areas. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing SME support to the Network Strategy and ongoing engineer activities
- Maintaining existing network systems
- Reviewing and providing technical feedback on contractor designs
- Designing and building communication architectures for base-end systems
- Managing and maintaining systems, including installing operating systems, patching, configuring, and interfacing with other mission-partner organizations
- Tracking major milestones and reviews
- Developing and reviewing system enhancements and test strategies
- Reviewing and providing technical designs and system testing plans
- Advising on CONOPs and use cases for customer network equipment and end-users
- Conducting system vulnerability scans using COTS scan tools
- Integrating and configuring COTS systems into legacy and upgraded enterprise systems
- Collaborating with ISSM staff, sys admins, and cyber security personnel to design secure communications
- Assisting in the security accreditation process
- Reviewing and assessing contractor deliverables
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Active/current TS/SCI w/ a valid Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, science, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and testing communication architectures
- Extensive experience with LINUX and Windows operating systems
- SME experience in network engineering
- Experience designing and building out enterprise domains
- Experience with Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and logging
- Experience configuring network infrastructure, Linux servers, and Windows servers
- Experience managing firewall and router access control lists
- Strong understanding of VMWare virtualization builds
- Excellent oral communication skills and patience

Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000 per year, based on experience and other factors.
