Fire Protection Engineer needed for a permanent full time opportunity located in either Glen Allen, VA or Lexington, KY, Chantilly, VA, or Virginia Beach, VA
Pay Rate : $100,000 to $130,000 annually Fire Protection Engineer in the Life Safety department able to engineer systems on medium-to-large scale projects and / or provide full engineering responsibility on smaller scale projects with limited guidance from more senior engineers. Partner with senior engineers to generate project / task vision, to resolve challenging problems, and to ensure / verify successful trajectory of deliverables. As the Life Safety, Fire Protection Project Engineer, here's the work you'll do :
- Create and edit project documents to include Drawings (CAD / BIM), Specifications (editing and checking) and support documents (basis of design).
- Develop a more thorough understanding of the intricacies of sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Gain more experience in the interpretation of building and life safety codes and standards.
- Perform engineering calculations using full suite of software tools.
- Develop ability to direct designer staff in production of drawings & details. To include marking-up and redlining drawings for others and assuming ownership of delegated tasks.
- Support construction phase contract administration activities such as Submittals, RFI's, construction support, etc.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $87,440 - $131,160. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
