Northrop Grumman, a renowned aerospace and defense company, is seeking a System Safety Engineer/Principal System Safety Engineer to join their Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD). This position will be based in Redondo Beach, California.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will support tasks involving system safety, including reviewing product designs, analyzing safety criteria, developing safety documents, and participating in accident investigations. Strong technical expertise in system safety and related disciplines is required.
This requisition can be filled at either a Level 2 Systems Engineer or a Level 3 Principal Systems Engineer role. The successful candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt. DoD Secret Clearance prior to start date.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 2 years of Engineering/Systems Safety experience OR Master's degree in STEM discipline. They must also have a strong background in System Engineering and System Safety experience.
Preferred qualifications include experience performing Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Test Hazard Analyses (THA), and software safety hazard analysis. Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E, AFI 91-202, and OSHA Standards is also desired.

Estimated Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $107,300 - $160,900 per annum. However, base salary offers are determined by the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
