IP Prosecution Paralegal – NYC or Northern NJ
Location: Hybrid (New York, NY or Northern New Jersey)
Salary: $76,000 - $180,000 Bonus
Job Overview
Our client, an Am 100 law firm, is seeking an experienced IP Prosecution Paralegal to join their team in New York or Northern New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of intellectual property prosecution experience in a law firm setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and electronically file trademark prosecution and maintenance documents with the USPTO
- Manage trademark filings with WIPO and under the Madrid Protocol
- Coordinate with foreign counsel on international trademark applications and registrations
- Communicate with clients regarding trademark status and deadlines
- Conduct preliminary trademark searches using USPTO and online databases
- File copyright registrations and support IP due diligence for corporate transactions
- Assist with TTAB proceedings and UDRP actions
- Handle U.S., PCT, and foreign patent prosecution, including design applications
- Maintain IP docketing and monitor deadlines using software (preferably CPI)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of IP prosecution experience in a law firm
- Experience at an Am 100/200 law firm or similar environment
- College degree and/or paralegal certificate required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Relativity, and Concordance; familiarity with iManage is a plus
