Powerhouse Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leading manufacturing facility in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a highly skilled Powerhouse Maintenance Technician to join their team. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the facility’s powerhouse equipment, including steam boilers, air compressors, and other essential power generation systems. The technician will be tasked with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical units, ensuring that the systems operate smoothly and reliably. Key Responsibilities:

• Steam Boiler & Equipment Maintenance:
  Install, maintain, and repair steam boilers, air compressors, automatic boiler controls, and other power generation equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety.
• Troubleshooting & Repair:
  Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including analog/digital control systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• System Monitoring & Quality Control:
  Perform chemical testing on water systems to maintain boiler water quality, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Piping System Installation & Maintenance:
  Use pipe fitting tools to bend, thread, cut, and install piping for steam, water, oil, gas, and compressed air systems.
• Mechanical & Electrical Unit Rebuilding:
  Tear down and rebuild complex mechanical and electrical units, interpreting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics.
• Energy Management System:
  Update schedules within the facility’s energy management system, ensuring all systems are running efficiently and safely.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:
  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Powerhouse Technician, with hands-on work on steam boilers, air compressors, and related equipment.
• Technical Skills:
  Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics.
• Location:
  Must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY, and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience:
  5 years of experience in powerhouse or industrial maintenance, particularly in manufacturing environments.
• Skills:
  Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills to handle complex system issues

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: $70,761 (Hourly rate: $34.02)
