Surety / Construction Associate – Remote
Our client is seeking an Associate with 2 years of experience to join its Fidelity Surety & Coverage business unit, focusing on surety and construction law. This position will be part of the surety / construction team in Collin County, TX. This position will be based remotely with occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will be based in one of the following states : Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Texas. The surety practice encompasses litigation in both state and federal courts, counseling, dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications :
- Active Texas Bar license or eligibility for the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) in Texas.
- Practical or legal knowledge of the construction industry is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with construction disputes, mechanics’ liens, and / or preparing and negotiating construction contracts is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with attorneys, consultants, and clients.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent academic credentials.
