Senior Engineer - High Voltage Cable Design

Compensation : $125,000 to $155,000 annually

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer in High Voltage Cable Design to lead the development and implementation of underground HV / EHV transmission cable systems. This role combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with strong leadership and communication skills to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.Role Overview
This position involves designing comprehensive cable system solutions, preparing detailed engineering documentation, and collaborating with internal teams and clients. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting manufacturing processes, and representing the organization as a subject matter expert in high-voltage transmission systems.Key Responsibilities
- Cable System Design :
Develop end-to-end cable system solutions, including accessories, grounding details, and bonding schemes for voltages ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
Act as a technical expert, presenting solutions and conducting training seminars for clients.
Prepare specifications, proposals, and safety documentation, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Project Management teams.
Develop testing plans, oversee design handovers, and address challenges on the production floor.
Train and mentor junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Represent the engineering team at industry conferences and forums.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
Deep knowledge of industry standards (ICEA, AEIC, IEC, IEEE) and thermal, mechanical, and electrical calculations.
Strong communication and technical writing abilities.
Customer-focused, action-oriented, collaborative, and adept at balancing stakeholder priorities.
