Associate Bandsaw Sales Specialist

Overview :

A leading metal-cutting technology brand is seeking a professional and motivated Associate Bandsaw Sales Specialist to join our team. This is a trainee sales position designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined and looking to build a career in technical sales. The selected candidate will operate within an assigned territory under the direct supervision of the Sales Training & Development Manager.

This position offers a structured training program, hands-on experience, and a pathway to a lucrative sales career with significant career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities :

  • Work within an assigned territory in the saw industry market under supervision.
  • Complete an established training program to learn the sales process.
  • Shadow experienced Bandsaw Specialists to understand sales techniques and customer interactions.
  • Engage with existing customer accounts to gain hands-on sales experience.
  • Participate in sales calls and assist in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Support field testing of bandsaw products within the assigned territory or region as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications :

  • Associate’s degree or technical diploma preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a trade preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and listen effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Tenacity and drive to achieve sales goals.
  • Adaptability and self-motivation in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory, up to 50%, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Training & Career Progression :

  • The role begins with a structured 9-12 month training program, including :
  • 6-9 months of hands-on experience in various plants, gaining product knowledge.
  • Safety training and quoting processes.
  • Transition into a full sales role upon successful completion of training.
  • Strong career advancement opportunities with potential for higher-level sales roles.
  • Compensation & Benefits :

  • Year 1 Compensation : $50K base salary (no commissions).
  • Upon promotion to Specialist Level : $65K base salary plus commissions and a company vehicle.
  • Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and retirement plan.
  • Territory & Travel :

  • The Associate level will cover Wisconsin and parts of northern Illinois.
  • Potential future expansion into Iowa and Minnesota.
  • Up to 10 travel days per month, including some overnight stays.
  • Occasional national travel for training or trade shows.
