Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dog handling and training, with a commitment to enhancing the bond between dogs and their owners. This role involves working directly with dogs of various breeds and temperaments, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques to teach obedience, socialization, and behavioral modification.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized training plans based on the needs of each dog and their owner.
- Teach basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and heel.
- Address behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, and excessive barking through tailored training methods.
- Provide guidance to dog owners on proper handling techniques and ongoing training practices.
- Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress and communicate effectively with clients about their dog's development.
- Ensure a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and owners.
- Stay updated on the latest training techniques and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog training or a related field (pet grooming, kennel management, veterinary technician).
- Strong knowledge of canine behavior and effective training methods.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and provide clear instructions.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely.
- Certification in dog training or behavior is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in pet care, pet sitting, animal restraint, or equine handling is a plus.
