Job Title: Construction Estimator
Location: Midtown Manhattan – In-Person
Position Overview: The Construction Estimator plays a crucial role in the preconstruction phase of construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and strong analytical skills to ensure that project bids are competitive and financially sound. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information, assess project requirements, and prepare comprehensive estimates that align with the project scope and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to sites throughout NYC on a regular basis
- Estimating software for cost estimation
- Manage billing and invoicing processes using AIA standards
- Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor progress and address any issues
- Provide leadership and guidance to other team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Maintains professional behavior and attitude on a daily basis
Qualifications:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the NYC construction processes
- Must have significant NYC experience
- Must have significant facade and roofing experience
- Must have significant estimating experience in NYC
- Strong project estimation skills
- Strong background using software for estimating
- In-depth knowledge of NYC construction processes, regulations, and codes
- Extensive knowledge of all flat roofing systems from Soprema, Siplast, Johns Manville, Firestone, Carlisle.
- Extensive knowledge of all elements of a Facade and associated replacement costs
- Experience with AIA billing procedures
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage estimating numerous projects and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Requirement to travel to multiple projects within NYC on a regular basis
- Living within New York City or within close commuting distance.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in NYC construction as a Construction Estimator
