Job Purpose:
HME is seeking Ironworkers to assist in the erection of structural steel components on construction sites primarily in the Midwest.

Position Description
- Read blueprints, technical drawings, work orders and other written directions
- Read and understand construction drawings and the concept of erecting pre-engineered and structural buildings
- Weld SMAW in all positions (training and certification provided by HME)
- Safely operate and/or work around cranes, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, and other construction equipment
- Maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment
- Comfortable with welding tools and procedures
- Comfortable working at heights up to 120 feet
- Lift up to 100 pounds
Position Requirements
- Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields preferred
- 10-hour OSHA training preferred
- First Aid/CPR training preferred
- Familiarity with engineered blueprints and schematics preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings preferred
- Must be willing to continuously learn
- Analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to handle physical workload required
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds required
- Motivation to learn and succeed required
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel
- Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer and pre-employment contingencies
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
