Position Description
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure inventory is available for production and sales needs
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate inventory status and issues to management and other relevant stakeholders
- Ensure all purchase orders are accurate as to product description, grade, quantity, and delivery date.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder products as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate prices, and place purchase orders for raw materials and inventory.
- Holding suppliers accountable to delivery dates and quality standards.
- Forecast demand and optimize inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audit.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and work with appropriate teams to prevent future occurrences
- Provide input as to inventory control procedures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency
- Arrange shipping methods, coordinating carriers, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in the development of inventory reports and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Utilize data to analyze trends, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions.
- Address supply chain disruptions, resolving delivery issues, and managing unexpected challenges.
Position Requirements
- Miniumum 3 years experience in a detail-oriented role
- Supply chain experience a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other inventory management software
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with shop drawings, basic mechanical knowledge (preferred not required)
