REPORTS TO: FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICE SPECIALIST/FOOD SERVICE MANAGER

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
9 Month Calendar
Salary and work year to be determined by the 501 Board of Education
Employees hired after July 1, 1997 will follow the Food Service Worker-A duty calendar
Works 2-4.5 hours per day in a Magnet School, Middle or High School
Must attend and successfully complete Food Safety Basics class within the first six months of employment, and once every 5 years
Food and Nutrition Services staff members are strongly encouraged to join SNA and SHAW-Wa, professional organizations for school food service staff, and attend elective continuing education classes
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is desirable
Basic math skills
Ability to read and write the English language
Demonstrate knowledge of food safety basics
Ability to lift 20-50 pounds
Ability to stand up to 4 hours
Knowledge of portion sizes
Ability to work with others
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
To serve food to a cafeteria tray line, prepare food in a kitchen, and perform cleaning activities. May assist in the effective overall operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Program at different kitchen locations as needed.

- Set food in steam tables
- Serve food
- Clean and Sanitize all food service areas and equipment
- Maintain and order supplies as needed
- Unloading and putting away stock
- Take and document temperatures
- Prepare for next shift
- Wash dishes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
