Reporting Relationship:
The Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Manager who provides guidance, sets performance expectations, and conducts regular performance reviews. The Production Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for escalated issues or concerns related to production operations.
The Role:
The Production Assistant is a part-time temporary seasonal position that assists the Production Team to ensure quality materials and inventory, keeps the Operations team prepared and ready to go, understands the needs and care required of plant material (annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees), and keeps the outdoor and indoor facilities in award-worthy organization and cleanliness.
This position’s success is measured by:
● Minimization of all materials loss numbers.
● Organization and cleanliness.
● Accurate and timely preparation of materials for the Operations team.
What You Will Do:
● Assist with Plant Care: Watering, pruning, and caring for our plant inventory.
● Support Operations: Help prepare materials, keep the work area organized, and ensure deliveries are accurate.
● Maintain our Facility: Assist with keeping our outdoor and indoor facilities clean and organized.
● Be a Team Player: Collaborate with the production team, follow safety protocols, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements Background:
● Eager to learn and passionate about horticulture or landscaping
● Take initiative and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team

● Basic English proficiency in verbal and written communication.
● Basic computer skills in areas such as email, chat, and other web-based applications.
● Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

● Valid Illinois Driver License with clean driving record.
Other Desired Qualifications:
● Experience in landscaping or a related field
● Proficiency in Spanish (written and verbal)
● Familiarity with contractor software such as Aspire
● Forklift certification
Expected Activity and Movement:
● Frequently lift, carry, or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to several hundred pounds using appropriate machinery and tools.
● Constantly move about to work.
● Regularly bend, stoop, and crouch on a regular basis.
● Occasionally climb stairs, ladders, or elevated work platforms such as scaffolding or motorized lifts.
● Work in seasonal weather, such as cold, cool, hot, and rain.
What We Provide:
Hours and Compensation:
6:00AM to 2:00PM Monday through Friday with occasional overtime as directed by your supervisor.
Hourly Position: $20-23, commensurate with experience.
