We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented New Product Development Assistant to join our dynamic skincare team. The ideal candidate will support the product development process from concept to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful introduction of innovative skincare products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Product Conceptualization/Ideation: Support NPD team in brainstorming and concepting for product ideation, competitive product research, product brief creation, and product package copy sheets
· Product Evaluation Coordination and Feedback Analysis: Gather and analyze feedback from consumer testing panels and internal stakeholders to help refine new product formulations
· Packaging Coordination: Support packaging options evaluation within NPD team. Provide feedback to Packaging and OPS teams. Coordinate packaging components and samples (with OPS team), as needed.
· Market Research: Help to conduct research on market trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to inform product development strategies. Coordinate consumer user tests and online surveys, as needed.
· Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on emerging trends in skincare and beauty, contributing insights to product development discussions and ideation
· Clinical and consumer skin care (before and after’s) trials: Assist with planning the key activities, from start to finish, that include survey and questionnaire creation, participant recruitment and interface management, product regimen coordination
· Project Coordination: Support product project management activities, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on track
Working Relationships
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong, mutually respectful relationships with marketing, packaging, and production teams to ensure cohesive product development and launch strategies.
· Interface with key Topix Skin Health departments, as needed: R&D, Operations, Brand Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, and Creative.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
· Degree in Marketing, New Product Development or a related field preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum 2-3 years of new product development experience or related roles within Beauty, Skin Care, or other Personal Care industry preferred.
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools (Asana).
· Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
· Passion: A genuine interest in skincare and beauty products, with a keen understanding of consumer needs.
Skills:
· Strong understanding of product marketing and new product development process/stage gates
· Ability to successfully collaborate cross-functionally in a remote and / or (as-needed) in an in-office team environment
· Strong administrative and organizational skills with superb attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate confidently yet diplomatically
· Ability to multi-task and handle numerous on-going projects simultaneously
· A positive, can-do attitude and helpful, problem-solving work ethic
