What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trucking Vendor Relationship and Compliance Specialist position at Topocean Group?
What we’re looking for:
- Topocean Group is currently looking for candidates interested in the logistics/ supply chain industry. We offer a full training program to all new hires in the Trucking Vendor Management .
- The personnel is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while complying with any internal and external requirements.
Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Negotiate with approved vendors, and look for new trucking vendors as needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls and verbal communications.
· Pricing analyst with transportation carriers for last mile
· Generate last-mile transportation sell rates for sales
· Rate inquiries from sales
· Secure drayage capacity for the customer service team
· Assist sales with RFQ for specific customers
· Trouble shoot last mile drayage issues such as repowering, lack of chassis, no response from the transportation carrier
- Visit customers/vendors once a while to maintain close relationship if needed.
- Monitor shipments to be picked up by vendors timely in the AM.
- Have a strong desire to learn and grow, and be open to new tasks.
- Report to superior when feel something may not be right.
Qualification Required:
- Freight forwarding background is required;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal (verbal, written and phone) and follow up skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Intermediate and/or advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet navigation
- Fast learner, positive attitude, can work independently as well as a team player
- Must be US Resident or U.S. Citizen.
Work Schedule:
- Working hours: M-F 8:30am to 5:30pm (subject to change)
Salary range: $42K-$60K plus bonus.
