Die Maintenance Manager / Tool & Die Manager
Summary
Oversee activities of the Tool Room, review customer requirements, prepares and update Level Up schedules, assist the Senior Manager in yearly budget planning,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Supervise toolmakers and apprentice / Interns in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. (Hold Accountability Plan and schedule all tool room level up jobs and ensure that the team has all needed information
- Assist tool room in troubleshooting any Die Build problems as needed
- Staff and evaluate tool room supervisor
- Coordinate activities with other departments, for production support, maintenance repairs, special projects, etc.
- Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work related issues
- Maintain Time and Production records as well as Estimates, Requisitions
- Inspect materials.
- Ensure that Housekeeping, Tooling Cleaning and 5s is being maintained
- Develop, Recommend, and Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and overall quality of product
- Sustain a Preventative Maintenance tooling program and continue to drive towards reliability
- Assist the D / M Senior Manager in preparing and presenting monthly A3 documents and KPI reports
- Assist in setting up the yearly budget and monitor to ensure that the budget is attainable
- Monitor employee performance and conduct evaluations of employee’s performance
- Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
- Write standardized work instruction that can be understood and performed
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and Coach problem resolution to the lowest level
- Ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Ability to work any shift to interact with All Team members.
- Ability to assist in coordinating major die repairs or level up concerns.
- Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, Draw panel formability, last hit process, contamination investigation
- Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Supervision of All Supervisors in Die Maintenance.
Carry out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:

Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Trade school or Apprenticeship with 3 years or more in Automotive Stamping and Tooling or Automotive Manufacturing is preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents including: safety rules, operating - maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Basic Math and Deduction skills

Should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and provide a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
