Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant Manager

Department: QA

Reports To: Quality Manager

Summary

Directs and coordinates Quality Assurance and inspection of parts, components, and materials produced by manufacturing processes by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Develop and maintain safe work environment

· Establish and Maintain Departmental Budget

· Organize workforce to maximize utilization of labor

· Oversee and direct Quality improvement activities

· Customer Relations

· Reporting to Management

· Set Internal Quality Targets

· Support North American TAC Activities

· Development of Colleagues

· Support Implementation and Maintenance of Internal Control

Supervisory Responsibilities

QA Assistant Manager will manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Quality Department. Assistant Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, budget, and evaluation of these units and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Competencies

· Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate levels of management.

· Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

· Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

· Plans Promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.

· Investigates and reviews customer complaints regarding quality.

· Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities related to product quality and reliability.

· Responsible for training new engineers, technicians, and lab personnel.

· Responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and integrating the quality management system manual in accordance with customer requirements.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents and the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Have the ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Have the ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Have the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Quality Alert Database software; AutoCAD Design software; Microsoft Office Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.
