Electrical Wiring Technician

TOPS Staffing has partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturing company in the East Pittsburgh area. Our client is looking for several (10 to 12) Experienced Electricians and/or Electronics Techs to add to its final electrical assembly / functional testing division. Our client is willing to hire selected candidates directly on with the company, meaning no contract period with TOPS Staffing.

Open to hiring candidates of various skill levels to fill these openings pay will be commensurate with experience and ability but in the ball park range of $22 to $30 per hour.

Job Details:
Direct hire opportunity
Shifts: Currently hiring for our Afternoon and Overnight shifts
Schedule: Monday to Friday - Occasional OT on weekends when needed
Hours: Afternoon Shift - 3pm to 11pm
Night Shift - 11pm to 7am
Pay rate – Based on experience $22 to $30 per hour.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Final Testing/ Functional testing of finished units
• Must be willing to work with higher voltages up to 480v
• Use of various hand and power tools to perform assembly
• Ability to work from both electrical and mechanical prints or schematics
• Ability to understand bill of materials for specified jobs.
• Quality inspection of electrical systems, trouble shooting and rework on systems as needed
• Fill out required paperwork for each unit accurately (will train in this area)
• Good communication skills required, need to have the ability to convey information to managers, and other departments with in the facility.
• Willingness to help train and coach newly hired or less experience employees.

Education and Experience:

• MUST have an associates degree in Electrical or Electronics related field to qualify for this opportunity
• Must have 2 years of related work experience
• Ideal candidate would be a Journeyman Electrician with experience working with up to 480v
• Associates degree in electrical related field related work experience will be considered.
• Experience with Excel and Word programs for documentation
• Prior quality inspection experience a plus
• Electronic experience not required but a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing
• Good manual hand dexterity
• Lifting of up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Must be able to work the 12 hour shift schedule this position requires
