What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician - Plastics Manufacturing Equipment exp. preferred position at TOPS Staffing?
TOPS has partnered with a well established client in the Cranberry, Pa area to find experienced Technical Service Representatives to add to their field service division.
In this position you will become a factory trained service technician that will provide specialized machinery repairs, start ups, training in proper use, and troubleshooting to customers and end users of client’s equipment. This work will be performed by traveling to customers location, over the phone or at our shop in cranberry.

Direct Hire
Daylight hours: Hours may vary due to travel and customer schedules.
Starting pay rate based on experience: $25 per hour ability to go into the low 30s for the right experience.
This position does involve significant travel to customer locations across the USA and internationally. Travel could be as high as 80% of this position
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responds to customer inquiries on the telephone, through on-line networks and in person.
- Communicates with customers to troubleshoot and help them understand how to use the product properly.
- Handles customer problems that appear to arise from the use of the product.
- Handles requests for replacing defective parts.
- Makes field service calls for new product start up and equipment repairs.
- Communicates with programmers and engineers regarding system and machine issues and follows-up to make sure fixes are received and tested.
- Completes, maintains and processes pertinent paperwork and records.
- Assists in final testing of new products and conformance to quality requirements.
- 80% Travel required; travel will vary each month based on work load
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years Technical Degree with 2/3 years related experience in similar type industry, or equivalent experience and training.Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
- Climb ladders
- stoop and bend frequently
- Push and pull with force up to 75lbs
