What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter / Media Blaster - Manufacturing Environment position at TOPS Staffing?
TOPS Staffing has partnered with a local manufacturing company to find an experienced Painter/ Media Blaster to add to its afternoon shift operations.
In this position you will be tasked with doing painting and powder coating of various sized and shaped parts, most of which are going to be used in either a military or aero-space type application. This job will involve doing a combination of prep work (sanding mainly), paint mixing, painting, and touch up work of parts coming through our facility.
In addition to painting, there will be times in this role where we will need you to help out with blasting work. Mainly this will be sand blasting work, but there may be some instances where your blasting parts with a different media.
Nice part about this painting position is its not a seasonal position and will allow you to work all year long, in a temperature controlled manufacturing facility. No more layoffs in the winter or rain outs in the summer. No more traveling from job site to job site for work, will be able to come to the same facility each and every day for this role.

Hours: 2:30pm to 11pm
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Occasional Saturday may be required
Pay: $18 per hour DOE $1hr shift differential.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Painting various sized and shaped parts
- Sanding and prep work prior to painting
- Mixing paint to get customer specified colors
- Painting of various surfaces but mainly going to be on metal products
- Quality check of painted products, ensure full coverage and painting is up to company standards.
- Perform touch up painting when necessary
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1 year of painting experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints, drawings and work instructions
- Experience with mixing paint
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Excellent Attendance record
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs on occasion
