What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder - MIG, TIG, STICK position at TOPS Staffing?
TOPS has partnered with a local machine shop looking for an experienced Welder for their daylight shift operations.
We are looking for an individual with experience with various types of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick and Carbon.
In this position you will be tasked with setting up and operation of a robotic welding machine and performing related supporting activities.
Job Details:
Contract to Hire Opportunity
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Occasional weekend could be required on as needed basis
Hours: 6am – 3:30pm
Starting Pay rate: Based on experience up to $24 per hour
Duties/Responsibilities
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and job orders
• Set up and operation of robotic welding machines based on job requirements
• Inspection of welds while in process and finished pieces
• Use of calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices
• Keep up with pace of production, meet company production quotas.
• Ability to multi-task
• Unload finished part from welding machine and inspect for quality purposes
• Use of ovens or furnaces to bring metal up to temperature when required
• Operate material handling equipment such as overhead crane and forklifts
• Assist with basic preventative maintenance of machine.
• Perform grinding, deburring and wire brushing
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent or AS degree
• 1 years of related work experience or AS degree in a related field
• Ability to do basic shop math
• Ability to read and understand prints or drawings
• Experience and knowledge of various welding techniques
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
