Topsail Montessori seeks an experienced Elementary Teacher who is passionate about fostering the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of children using hands-on, process-based instructional methods. Our 5 acre campus is situated in a coastal community, minutes from beautiful beaches and Wilmington, NC. Nestled in a wooded neighborhood, our elementary students care for chickens & goats, plant & harvest our gardens, and experience the joy of feeling connected with nature. Key Responsibilities:
- Differentiate Instruction: Design and implement differentiated instructional strategies to accommodate the various learning styles, developmental stages, and needs of all students
- Teach & Support Students within a Mixed-Age Classroom: Demonstrate expertise in managing and nurturing a classroom environment that caters to the developmental needs of students across different age groups.
- Build Trusting & Collaborative Relationships: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through regular communication (phone calls, face-to-face meetings, classroom events), ensuring a supportive and collaborative community.
- Demonstrate effective methods of Data Collection & Intervention: Utilize data to monitor student progress, implement effective intervention strategies, and adjust teaching approaches to maximize individual growth and success.
- Possess a Growth Mindset: Maintain a process-oriented, positive perspective towards both student and personal growth. Adapt your teaching practices to meet the demands of a dynamic classroom environment.
- Demonstrate Curricular Knowledge & Pedagogical Best Practices: Implement and integrate various teaching approaches, including Montessori, Project-Based Learning (PBL), Socratic Seminars, and Entrepreneurship, to engage and challenge students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (or related field); teaching certification preferred.
- Experience in teaching elementary-aged students, with a focus on differentiated instruction and mixed-age classrooms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong classroom management skills within mixed-age classroom
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
