Maintenance Helper - Full Time

Report to: Marina Maintenance Manager or Service Manager

The Maintenance Helper is responsible to assist in the repair and maintenance of all electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment throughout the marina. Marina knowledge is a plus but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in daily operations of the Marina as needed by the Maintenance or Service Manager
2. Inspect boats, equipment, and machinery on the marina
3. Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems including plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry.
4. Attend to and fix equipment, and machinery that have a problem
5. Work proactively to prevent hazardous situations
6. Ensure adherence to departmental and / or operations policies, procedures, and practice
7. Perform such duties as assigned by the Marina Maintenance Manager

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED required
2. Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
3. Knowledge of and experience repairing plumbing and electrical.
4. Experience with basic carpentry and tools.
5. Able to lift heavy equipment and work on and around waters
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
7. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
8. Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
9. Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel

• Work in tight spaces
• Work at heights of up to 30 feet
• Stand, walk, sit, push, pull, climb, bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, grasp
