The Marina Maintenance Supervisor works with the Marina General Manager as well as other colleagues throughout the organization to provide optimal general maintenance and operations of wet slips and dry storage departments.
The Marina Maintenance Supervisor provides the highest level of customer service in a friendly, helpful manner while accurately responding to the customers’ needs. He or she will project a professional company image through all types of interactions. This is a fast-paced environment, and the Maintenance Supervisor must be able to work under pressure and lead a small team to success.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance and dry storage departments for the property
- Supervise team of 6 employees.
- Routinely inspect all areas of the property to ensure a high-quality appearance and a proper safety environment including thorough cleaning of docks / dry racks, ongoing trash pick-up, and other tasks that are consistent with this goal.
- Understand and comply with government regulations about marina operations and handle all aspects of governmental reporting and compliance where applicable, including but not limited to weights and measures, OSHA, EPA, and Army Corp of Engineers (ex. oil spills, fires, fuel spills, etc)
- Utilize marina software such as Limble, and SpeedyDock to ensure smooth operations within the marina.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers
- Train, schedule, and supervise all personnel and/or contract labor in maintenance and storage departments.
- Lead daily department meetings with dry storage and maintenance teams.
- Respond to and resolve customer disputes consistent with company philosophy. If any issues escalate, work with the General Manager to solve them.
- Monitor maintenance and dry storage inventory. Procure supplies when necessary.
- Perform maintenance duties on property including plumbing and electrical
- Coordinate with the Marina General Manager for cost approval of any projects or needs that are not routine.
- Ensure proper controls to safeguard assets, including but not limited to equipment and inventory.
- Ensure that all company and customer equipment are secure each evening prior to lock up. This includes the trailer lot and back gate to the marina.
- Ensure and take appropriate action for the proper maintenance of all marina equipment, property, grounds, office, retail store, fuel dock, dry racks, and floating or fixed docks.
- Oversee vessel hauling and launching procedures for dry storage vessels in the dry stack using Speedy Dock.
- Respond to windstorms, flooding, or other emergency events that could damage marina assets or guest property.
- Manage employee disciplinary issues by documenting incidents and working with the Marina General Manager to develop Performance Improvement Plans as necessary.
- Coordinate scheduling of employees to meet the needs of the marina in the maintenance and dry storage department.
- Notify the Marina General Manager of any incidents that may require workers’ compensation or involve OSHA.
- Perform additional/related duties as assigned by the Marina General Manager.
- High school diploma or GED
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Two to three (2-3) years’ experience which includes maintenance work, direction of employees, inventory control, and customer relations
- Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
- Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Must be available for 24-hour telephone contact for emergency response (rotating on-call)
- Knowledge of general boat handling and operations, mooring and docking practices, boat equipment, standard safety precautions, and different marina facilities preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
- Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
- Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others
- Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
- Strong work ethic and personal commitment
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals. Able to work with a diverse group of people of all different skill sets
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
- Good presentation, facilitation, and computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook email, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of general maintenance (Electrical, plumbing, carpentry) to assist in hands on maintenance
- Boom lift and forklift experience is preferred
