Position Summary
Under the routine supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer position analyzes equipment failures, plans improvement activities, and directs improvement activities which prevent or reduce equipment failures. Additional activities include involvement in project teams which improve the manufacturing process safety, quality, and/or productivity.
Responsibilities

1. Identifies and implements opportunities for improvement in equipment safety, quality of output, and reliability.
2. Develop work plans and instructions for repair or modifications of equipment.
3. Develop and support the periodic maintenance plan for plant equipment.
4. Provide technical direction for resolution of equipment malfunction to Maintenance Technicians.
5. Participate in project teams and all activities related to increases in Plant Efficiency, Quality, Safety, and cost reductions.
6. Assist in forecasting requirements, to create budgets within the Maintenance Department.
7. Learn new skills and attend training programs in order to increase knowledge of trends and best practices in the industry.
8. Reports status of equipment, countermeasure plans, and plans for improvements to maintenance manager, prepares briefings for upper management of the same.
Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• In lieu of schooling, will also consider military training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a heavy manufacturing facility.
• Three years of experience as manufacturing engineer preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Two to three years of experience in maintenance preferably within a manufacturing environment including exposure to machine design and modification
2. Ability to lead and manage projects from inception to completion of both medium to large magnitude
3. Experience and understanding of ISO 14001:2015 and IATF 16949
4. Exposure to mechanical systems and machinery including hydraulics and pneumatics.
5. Exposure to programming and troubleshooting of programming for PLC, CNC, Vision Systems, Servos, and /or robots
6. Ability to use Auto CAD or similar package
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively working with manufacturing personnel, other department personnel, and management.
8. Excellent computer skills
9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, Email).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time, exempt position, and hours of work are on an 8 hr. shift, typically between 8am-4:45pm. This position may also be required to work Monday-Friday 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, eight hours a day to assist with shift coverage. This position will require working on and during holidays and holiday weekends. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day work is generally not required. Since holiday and weekend work is to be expected, there will be six (6) more vacation days given in addition to the normal two weeks of vacation originally offered.

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
