Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support Army PEO Aviation in developing and acquiring aviation systems using a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and MBSE methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in aviation systems, MOSA, and MBSE.
- Support real-time embedded safety-critical systems and software development.
- Assist in defining requirements, architecture, and data models for aviation programs.
- Analyze compliance of Component Design Models (CDMs) with system specifications.
- Develop and review acquisition documents, cost estimates, schedules, and policies.
- Research best practices and provide recommendations for open architecture strategies.
- Create prototypes and solutions to improve system integration and reduce risks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS in an engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university and 12 years of engineering experience, including 2 years with MBSE.
- Experience with systems engineering, test requirements, and verification.
- Proficiency in SysML, UML, DoDAF (UPDM/UAF).
- Experience with real-time safety-critical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and writing skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with government and contractor teams.
- Understanding of Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE).
- Experience applying MOSA in avionics or military systems.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree preferredin an engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university, plus 10 years of experience.
- Knowledge of safety standards (DO-178B/C, DO-254).
- Understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics (DO-297, ARINC 653/661).
- Familiarity with military open standards (FACE, HOST, SOSA, CMOSS).
