Job Description

Torch is seeking a Band Saw Operator to support the production and fabrication processes for various DoD systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining saws, handling materials efficiently, and ensuring the proper staging and preparation of raw materials for manufacturing. Applicants should possess experience in equipment setup, operation, and safety protocols to maintain a productive and organized shop environment.

 

• CNC Saw Setup, prove out and run jobs, ensuring precise, accurate work & attention to detail.
• General machine maintenance & upkeep working knowledge.
• Maintain quality control documents and update job setup information as needed.
• Must be capable of reading engineering drawings and following both written and verbal instructions.
• Must be organized and be able to keep material storage areas organized.
• Responsible for various aspects of material movement throughout the plant.
• Must be self-motivated and can work independently with limited or no assistance.

Job Requirements

 

• Associate Degree, or 2 years of formal technical training and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or requires an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
• Proficient with use of Tape Measures and calipers
•  Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical instructions. 
• Able to work a 1st shift with work hours ranging from 6:00am - 4:30pm.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Must be familiar with working within AS9100 quality processes. 
• Ability to unload raw materials from trucks and store materials.
• Capable of working independently with little direction 
• Must follow and comply with all safety rules and guidelines. 
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience operating an overhead crane and forklift. 
• Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, tape measure, and techniques used in safe band saw operation. 
• Experience in material control processes 

 

Workplace safety is a priority at Torch.  Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment.  Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training prior to employment.
