The qualified candidate will have:
- Associate degree or higher in Graphic Design/Art, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of related graphic design/illustration experience. A solid foundation in visual communication, backed by relevant academic training or practical experience. A minimum of five years producing professional-grade graphics and visual materials in support of technical, operational, or mission-focused objectives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Master Suite. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications is essential. The candidate must be capable of developing clean, accurate, and brand-consistent materials across multiple formats, from briefing decks to technical documentation.
- Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint. Advanced PowerPoint skills are required to support high-stakes briefings and presentations. Candidate must be adept at embedding graphics, charts, animations, and transitions.
- A talent for understanding complex defense concepts and translating them into engaging and informative visuals. Must demonstrate the ability to distill technical and operational information into clear, visually compelling graphics, infographics, or video content that effectively supports communication with stakeholders ranging from program managers to senior military leaders.
- The ability to produce high-quality and innovative graphics and illustrations under tight deadlines. A proven track record of delivering polished, on-brand visuals that support government proposals, technical reports, R&D projects, and warfighter-centered initiatives. Creativity and precision are equally important in this role.
- Thorough knowledge of the printing process. Working knowledge of print workflows, including file setup for large-format materials, and coordination with vetted vendors.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Premiere, and other animation applications.
Familiarity with creating mission-supporting motion graphics or animated visuals that explain system architectures, operational concepts, or user interfaces in a professional format.
- Ability to edit existing video footage into a cohesive presentation. Experience assembling video assets to support briefings, field demonstrations, or program updates. Ability to deliver high-impact video narratives that align with defense-related communication objectives.
- Creation of animation sequences using Adobe After Effects. Capable of producing dynamic sequences—such as concept-of-operations animations, technical process visualizations, or simulation overlays—that help visualize advanced defense systems or future capabilities.
