Job Description

The M&S Event Mission Project Manager will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office in testing the Missile Defense System (MDS). This role involves operating within a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, supporting MDS Ground Test (GT) events, and assisting MDS Flight Test support through pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction. Additionally, this position provides M&S development and test support to other Department of Defense (DoD) partners.

Responsibilities: 

• Provide strategic planning and project management support for MDS test events, framework M&S, and risk reduction activities
• Coordinate test resources such as facilities and personnel with simulation software developers
• Capture development schedules, integration points, and test plans to align with program objectives
• Act as a liaison between: M&S software developers, product integration teams, analysis teams, test teams, infrastructure teams, MDS elements, and stakeholders
• Ensure consolidation of capabilities to fulfill MDS stakeholders’ requirements
• Maintain management awareness of planning activities and development issues
• Review test plans and event schedules for feasibility based on resource allocation and timeframes
• Plan and coordinate continuous development activities for M&S and MDS elements
• Track and resolve M&S issues through collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Provide risk management recommendations by: identifying and communicating event risks, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring impacts
• Communicate M&S event and activity status updates to stakeholders
• Participate in: MDA planning and coordination meetings, working group meetings, peer reviews, and technical interchange meetings
• Provide leadership with reports on cost, schedule, performance, and risk

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Engineering, or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience 
• Final and active SECRET clearance required
• Experience in:
  • MDA Ground Test environments
  • Leading integrated system test events
  • Real-time distributed simulation infrastructures
  • MDS Element configurations and operations
  • DoD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT)
• Experience with Objective Simulation Framework (OSF)

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience operating M&S utilizing OSF
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred but not required)
• Demonstrated project management experience
